Designed by Theodor Grust in 1907, formed before 1924, consisting of 12 dinner plates, 9 hors-d'oevres plates, 9 soup plates, 6 bread plates, 6 dessert bowls, 2 egg cups, 3 carré bowls, carré plate, sauce boat, 2 oval plates, 2 oval bowls and 1 lid. Blue crossed swords marks (of 2nd choice). Minor wear.
From an old private collection, Cologne
Theodor Grust (1857-1919) studied painting at the academies of arts in Dresden and Munich. After study trips he returned to his native town Meissen at the end of the 19th century. There he worked for the Royal Saxon Porcelain Manufactory, and from 1905-1909 he was head of painting department there. He created numerous designs for Art Nouveau porcelain.
